Welsh Centre International Affairs: Wales for Peace

In the 100 years since World War One, how have the people of Wales contributed to the search for peace? Who are Wales’ ‘Peace Heroes’? How can their stories continue to ‘inspire internationalism’ today… and what actions can we all take to build a better world for tomorrow? This exhibition from the Welsh Centre for International Affairs, linking in to the local collections of Swansea Museum, explores how the impact of war has led people to pursue peace – through actions ranging from remembrance, voicing protest, offering sanctuary to refugees, international exchanges and youth activism. A perfect complement for deeper understanding the themes of ‘Now the Hero,’ with inspiration to become a ‘peace hero’ yourself.

Wales’ iconic First World War Book of Remembrance - a moving memorial and work of art in itself, from the 1920s - will be on display, on a rare release from its crypt in Cardiff’s Temple of Peace. Heritage Lottery Funded.
